Banana-Obana...

Mana! Okay, I am lacking titles for this post, (obviously!) but, I thought this would show off K's mom's more "creative" and "silly" side today. Anyway...

It's been awhile since I've posted, and I am totally bummed I haven't kept up more lately. Kairis is growing up so quickly...here are few things she's doing lately:

*Says words like "mama", "dada", "baba", "ball", and "t" sounds. She wakes up nearly every morning saying "dada-tata-dada" or some combination similar to that. I love listening to her talk in the morning.

*Eating lots of new foods--nearly anything besides honey, cows milk, tomatoes and berries. Which, in our home, omitting berries, honey and tomatoes is a hard thing to do! I will be thankful when K can eat more of our food that I prepare on a regular basis too. She's doing great though, with "real" food. She also just discovered how to sip water out of her sippy cup. She is learning how to grasp the handles now and sip at the same time.

*She listens to me when I ask her to "sit please". She can climb out of her highchair, (I need to make a run to IKEA and get some straps for it) so I ask her to "sit please", and she looks at me seriously and sits down very nicely. I am so proud of her early signs of obedience taking place! I can tell that she genuinely wants to make me happy and listen to what I have to say. Dear God, please help this to stay! ;)

*She is cruising everywhere...no official steps yet, but she's sure trying! She walks around the coffee table, grabs onto my legs in the kitchen and pulls herself up and can even climb up one stair.

*She's starting to show more recognition to sign language.

*She has fallen asleep on three separate occasions in her jogger stroller, when Tim and I have taken her out for a walk. That's impressive--she usually doesn't enjoy being strapped in that much, but as of recently, she's not protesting. I still carry her lots while we're out, but for the occasional hike or walk, it's nice to have a different place for her to sit.

I'm probably forgetting a lot, but that's the jist of where we're at right now. This stage we've entered into is so much more fun than I could have ever imagined. I love having her recognize me, smile at me, laugh with me and just have more "awareness" of her surroundings and what we're up to. She has taken on a new level of understanding. Today, we were sitting on the couch together reading stories, and she was playing with my ring on my finger and looking at me and trying to play "peek-a-boo" I think. It was very sweet. Okay....lots of pictures to share!
