Kairis has mastered the stairs! She started climbing them one day about 2 weeks ago, while I was working in the kitchen. One moment she was at my feet by the sink, and the next...she was on the second stair heading upward. Yikes! That'll teach me to keep the baby gate closed from now on! :) She's really fast, too--at climbing that is. It's so funny to watch this tiny little body hike up the stairs so quickly. She hasn't figured out how to get back down, thankfully.
Also...another funny thing has been happening lately. Last week, I went in to get Kairis up from her nap, as I heard her on the monitor, and when I went in...she had taken her diaper off (she went to bed with just a diaper on, as we had an eventful day with baths, clothing changes, etc. already) and was playing with the poo* in her diaper....YUCK!!! I couldn't believe it. I just scooped her up very quickly and gave her another bath (the third one that day...), and cleaned her up once again. The next day, she had managed to get her diaper off AGAIN, this time she was just wearing a t-shirt and diaper to bed...when I saw her rolling around, bum naked, I raced in and was thankful to find no messes of any kind. *whew* The funniest part--she had actually chucked her diaper across the room from her crib. It was laying by its lonesome next to the armoire.
Anyway, now I have to put shorts or pants on her at all times when she's sleeping, or else she will undo the velcro tabs and, well you know the rest. :)
