I have a few blog posts to catch up on, like my AMAZING first Mother's Day, but I thought since it's fresh in my mind, I'd blog about our great day, today. Tim worked long and hard this past week, putting in 12.5 hours of overtime yesterday, and working a 15.5 hour day!! He had to go to Bend to do a big carpet job with some guys, and they didn't get home till 9:30pm. But, that gave dad lots of studyin' time in the car, so it all worked out well. This weekend dad's remodeling our neighbor, Jon's bathroom for him, since he has some dry rot issues and frankly, isn't very home-improvement saavy. Just some more money to put in the bank--so it's all good! However, because of his busy week and missing his family, we decided to go garage sale-ing this morning and afternoon in Forest Heights up along Skyline Blvd. We had the best time! We bought some really fun toys for you, Kairis--but you'll have to wait until your 1, 2nd, and 3rd b-days to see all the fun goodies we got for you. ;) Since you won't be reading this blog anytime soon, I'll let the rest of the family who does read this in on the fun treats we found...
Little People Barn/Farm set. The cutest thing!! Comes with horses, llamas (the modern farm!), pgs, sheep, chickens, cows and even a little farmer boy! It's a really cool set-up, and the barn stalls make noises.
Melissa and Dough Wooden bead/string necklace set
Melissa and Dough Wooden train-block set; we're letting you place with this now, as it's just perfect for you.
Your first dolly! Every little girl needs a dolly...
Melissa and Doug Wooden magnetic alphabet letters
Wooden pull dog toy thing...really cute.
A pair of Ecco Goretex hiking boots...perfect size for you next summer when we go hiking!
A little pair of rain boots for next year too...
We had the best time finding these really nice toys, at rock bottom prices. I can't wait to see you enjoy opening them in the years to come. Mom and Dad found some pretty fun stuff too....
Dad put you in the backpack carrier and we walked up and down hills looking at other people's treasures...we stopped for a picnic lunch I brought for all of us. You got many compliments about how beautiful of a smile you have. We dreamed of garage sale-ing with you next year, and how much fun that'll be. Tim and I remembered that last year, this same weekend we went to these same sales in this high-end neighborhood and bought a bouncy seat for Kairis, pink baby croc shoes and some other stuff. We then followed it by going out to lunch for a belated Mother's Day treat to Pastini's in the Pearl District.
Another first tonight....you crawled over to me and VERY audibly and OBVIOUSLY! said "mom!", and then "up!". Totally awesome.
