My baby's 5 months! I never dreamed I'd have this much fun with a five month old before....no one ever told me it would feel *this good*....I absolutely love waking up every morning to the sounds of my darling cooing and talking in her crib. Every morning when I go in she lifts her head up and arches her neck to see me. And when she does make eye contact...it's like the gates of heaven opened up for her, because her smile is to die for. She then flops her head back down on her mattress and squeals with delight until I swoop her up and she snuggles her little head into my shoulder for lots of love. I absolutely love and am cherishing these moments with Kairis. Today, we drove out to Tualatin to pick up a super cute solid wood highchair on craigslist for $10--what a deal! I just need to refinish it and tighten things up a bit and it will be in great working order.
Two days ago she started rolling over continuously....I can't lay her on our bed anymore for play-time and then walk off and do a load of laundry! She prefers her tummy and rolls and rolls to reach new things she's interested in. Another cute thing is her mirror in her room. Every morning I take her to the mirror in her room (Tim made it...it's an old window pane that he screwed a mirror on the back of, and fastened some cute old glass knobs on for hanging bath towels on) and she just lights up and laughs and thoroughly enjoys seeing herself and me. I tried to get some cute pictures of this, for memories sake, but didn't have too much success with her smiling! As I type this, she's laying on our bed watching me, waiting for me to make eye contact with her and see my smile. I just love this stage she's in. Also, her new love is chewing on her toes. She loves pulling her feet up to her mouth; this is kinda gross to me, but I guess she's just "discovering" herself. ;) She is also into (as Tim would say) "blowing raspberries" with her mouth. For those of you who don't know what that is, including myself....it's that sound you make with your lips when you are blowing air out of them; maybe similar to playing a musical instrument, like flute or tuba? (I have no clue....) Anyway, it's cute, but causes lots of drool, hence the bib wearing.
Here's a few pictures of the cute solid wood high-chair I picked up on craigslist today. $10! I can't wait to refinish it and make it beautiful again!
