Portland Children's Museum

3/30/10

Kairis enjoys the Portland Children's Museum. Her favorite room is the "water room" by far--she could seriously spend hours here! We went with our good friends, Christine and Daylynn. I try and take Kairis to the museum about 1x a week.

Cuteness...

3/30/10

Kairis loves her "Scout" dog. This was a beloved Christmas present from Grandma and Grandpa Thomas. These other pictures were taken right before we left for our weekly excursion to The Children's Museum in Portland. I love Kairis' hair pigtails, and I am especially fond of her boots.

A Glimpse Into Everyday Life...

Kairis enjoys pushing around the laundry basket when it's full of "stuff" she accumulates throughout the day from the playroom. She also enjoys pushing the basket all the way down the stairs. This is usually accompanied with an "uh-oh!" This makes her absolutely hysterical; it's so cute! Tim was playing with her the evening I took these pictures....she loves playing with her daddy!

Another Dress of Mama's...

3/21/10

Doing another favorite activity--putting lids on containers.

This was one of my childhood dresses. One of my distant elderly cousins, Rosa Moore made it for me when I was young. I've enjoyed dressing Kairis up in some of my childhood dresses.

Coloring Pictures!

3/20/10
Kairis started using crayons and pens long before these pictures were taken, we just didn't document with pictures right away. She, up until recently was mainly using her left hand, but is now usually using her right hand. One of her favorite activities is drawing pictures with an ink pen. She absolutely loves pens over any other writing implement to date. Reminds me of my grandpa Bud who was legally blind but a wonderful artist. He mainly drew cartoon like pictures and wild life with a black ink pen. Kairis is definitely artistic and detail oriented, just like her daddy! :) She also started saying the word "rainbow" at around the time this picture was taken.

Feeding Ducks...

I'm going to start where I left off picture-wise on this blog....embarrassed to admit it's been since March! Ahh! The time FLYS when you have little ones....so true, so true. Our sweet girl has changed so much in the past few months, since I've updated with pictures.

Here are some pictures of me taking Kairis to feed the ducks on one of our nightly runs in the neighborhood, back in March.

My First Real "Hug"....

I have been terrible at updating this blog, but I just HAD to skip ahead to tonight (don't worry, I will someday update this again with all the new "happenings" that have passed by months prior)...it was a sweet moment I don't want to forget.

Kairis was eating broccoli tonight while sitting in my lap at the table. We were sharing a sweet moment when I asked her if she wanted to give mama a hug. She nodded her head "yes" while shaking it up and down vigorously. I leaned in and she wrapped her little arms around my neck and just gave me the sweetest squeeze in the world. She stayed there for awhile and I melted. She then proceeded to look me in the eyes and give me "eskimo kisses" (nose kisses basically).

Aww....I was speechless. It was a moment I won't soon forget and one that was especially meaningful. I am so thankful for my tenderhearted, thoughtful little girl.
