Our sweet 15.5 month old....

Where does time go? Kairis is growing up SO quickly. I am aware of how cliche I am sounding right now....but, seriously, when you have a kid, it just feels like time is passing us by so much faster than before. This past month, Kairis has really developed her language skills and general communication toward us. She's saying "mama" very clearly as well as "daddy". She loves looking at pictures on the wall and pointing to daddy. :) She loves reading books now too, and sits for a long time while we read to her. She says "bath" and can climb in and out of the tub with some help. She is using utensils more, and trying to get the hang of it....still a bit complex for her right now. She says "dog" and "buh-bye" very softly, but very clearly when you can catch it! "Mah" or "more", and she signs what she wants from time to time. She is an extrovert, since she started walking at 12.5 months. I can't believe how outgoing she is now--it takes her a few minutes to get comfortable with people, but then she's down, in the midst of a crowd and enjoys mingling. (just like mom!) She now has two top molars, 4 bottom teeth, 4 top teeth, is weaned from a bottle, drinks exclusively from cups and.....man, the list could go on! The other day, I had the jazz radio station playing (one of our favs), and she started tapping her feet on the kitchen floor, and "dancing". It was adorable! She loves to dance and laughs when Tim and I dance to music with her. She's got the sweetest little demeanor, and when she's engaged with something, she says "ohh! ohh!" Today, we got my grandma's piano delivered to our home. I'm hoping Kairis will enjoy playing the piano now that we have one that's accessible to her. Kairis is also enjoying playing the "chase" game. I put her down in a store, and she takes off running, giggling and looking back at me, waiting for me to "chase" her. It's fun, for sure, but I honestly don't get anything done when at the store with her....at least, not very quickly and efficiently! :) Kairis has also started keeping hats on her head! We're looking forward to the holidays around here, and can hardly wait to spend a week at the beach over Christmas again with Tim's family. This is K's 2nd Christmas, and so far, she's only spent Christmas at the beach! What a great family tradition!
