We have a walker in the house now! Or, as the books say, a "toddler". Kairis took 8 steps on her own last Tuesday night, September 1st. While vacationing in Nelson, BC with Arden and his family, Kairis was walking practically everywhere, holding onto everything....so cute to watch her learn how to toddle, and to just hold your breath as she took one extra step closer to things I'd never imagined her getting to before falling. It was so exciting for Tim and I! (well, and Arden, Marcia, John Erik and Elena too, of course!) It was a treat for them to see her do her "thing". Oh, she's also mastered climbing down the stairs at Arden and Marcia's house. She's been climbing up for a few months now, but going down is a recent discovery. :)
Also, since last week, Kairis has started signing all the time now. She signs milk, more, all done, waves bye-bye, bath and eat. It's so awesome to watch her learn these signs. I need to start teaching her more!!! I seriously can't believe how much she's changed from baby to little girl in just a matter of a couple weeks. She's wearing her cute fall clothes I bought at garage sales for her, and wears little girl shoes now too....almost always has a pony tail of some sort in her hair since it's getting so long. Her hair is curly too!
A couple funny stories Tim wanted to be sure and have me include here:
*Two weeks ago, Kairis found my cell phone and brought it to me babbling away and saying "daddy" over and over again. So sweet! She loves talking to Tim on the phone.
*Kairis found the cat litter in the bathroom (her favorite thing when I forget to shut the bathroom door). I noticed it was quiet for a few minutes in the bedroom where I was at, so I went looking for her, and found her scattering litter all over the floor. I found her sitting down, litter all around her, and thank God, pacifier securely in her mouth. If it wasn't for the pacifier (that she only has at naps...she must have found this laying around somewhere!) she would have been eating the litter for sure. *whew*
Okay...pics to come soon!
